The Role
Anyone can cut clips. We’re looking for someone who knows why the next cut matters. As a Junior Video Editor, you’ll turn raw footage into high-retention YouTube content using storytelling, pacing, sound design, B-roll, and motion graphics. You’ll own your edits, think beyond the timeline, and keep asking: “What will make this moment hit harder?”
Responsibilities
- Edit long-form YouTube videos from raw footage.
- Build strong hooks and engaging opening sequences.
- Shape pacing and visual storytelling throughout each video.
- Add B-roll, music, SFX, transitions and motion graphics.
- Edit with viewer retention and audience experience in mind.
- Match editing references and required styles accurately.
- Take ownership of edits from first cut through revisions.
- Make smart creative decisions without needing constant direction.
- Solve routine editing and technical issues independently.
- Keep projects, footage and assets properly organized.
- Communicate clearly and flag blockers early.
- Deliver quality work on time.
- Collaborate with editors, managers and the wider Fulfillment team.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Good working knowledge of Adobe After Effects.
- Strong understanding of YouTube editing and storytelling.
- Familiarity with talking-head and documentary-style content.
- Strong sense of pacing, sound design and visual composition.
- Ability to use B-roll and motion graphics purposefully.
- Ability to understand references and reproduce editing styles.
- Strong attention to detail and consistency.
- Good creative judgment.
- Ability to take ownership of assigned edits.
- Reliable communication and deadline management.
- A portfolio demonstrating relevant YouTube editing work.

- Strong long-form YouTube portfolio.
- Documentary or storytelling experience.
- Short-form / Reels editing experience.
- Motion graphics skills.
- Understanding of viewer retention.
- Experience working in a creative or YouTube-focused environment.
- Strong instinct for hooks, pacing and visual payoff.
